ACTINOLITE
Mary Kathleen Mine, Mt Isa – Cloncurry Area, Queensland, Australia
When these specimens arrived from Australia I opened the package and couldn’t believe my eyes!  These are very special examples of one of the asbestiform minerals that actually, occasionally forms euhedral, prismatic crystals.   Detailed descriptions are not really needed for these very special specimens, yet they do require a little introduction:

Item MI-1550
Very large non-terminated, dark greenish-black Actinolite crystal aggregate measuring 6 1/2” long, 1 5/8” wide, up to 5/8” thick.  No matrix.
Price:   $95.00  SOLD

Item MI-1551
Intergrown, pale smoky gray-white Calcite rhombohedrons to near 2” on an edge serve as the matrix for several large, dark greenish-black, non-terminated Actinolite crystal aggregates.  The Actinolite crystal in View A is 3 1/2” long X 1 1/4” wide.  The Actinolite crystal aggregate in View B is 3 3/4” long X 2 1/2” wide.  The Calcite is not fluorescent.
Overall specimen size:  3 3/4 X 3 1/2” across X up to 2 1/2” thick
Price:  $75.00  SOLD

NOTES:
All specimens are natural, not processed in any way from their original form.
