GENERAL
INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCALITY: |
|
This exciting
find was made several years ago, quite by accident. The tendency for
specimens from this find is to form as elongated, single tubes,
sometimes slightly curved, but most often fairly straight down the
length of the tube. Branches are uncommon. The finder was kind enough
to provide the accompanying photos of the dig site. These fulgurites
were recovered from a sandy area where, in at least one case, an
excavation more than 10 feet deep was made in order to recover the
entire fulgurite! |
