Leica/Bausch & Lomb Nicholas
Illuminator
Providing an intense “spotlight” effect, this illuminator is
recommended for examination of both surface and internal details. It
is ideal for lighting small or deep apertures such as crevices,
cracks, holes, etc. A corrected condenser “pinpoints” intense
light on the area being viewed. Even the most complex products or
specimens can be examined thoroughly. When used on the
adjustable jackknife linkage, the light can be directed from a wide
variety of angles, and the linkage provides adequate support for the
lamp and condenser assembly, minimizing vibration and consequent
inconstant focus. The illuminator head can be mounted in the
illuminator port of most B&L microscope stands. At a 6-inch
projection distance the spot of light is 1 in diameter. When the
transformer output is at 6.5 volts, the intensity is approximately 600
foot candles with a color temperature of about 2800° Kelvin.

different sizes of calibration circles as well as an x y scale that is
finely divided.
