PRE-OWNED STEREO MICROSCOPES If you have priced new or used microscopes,
you are aware of the prices of quality instruments from well known
manufacturers such as Nikon, Olympus, Bausch & Lomb, Leica, Wild and
others. Quite often we acquire pre-owned stereo microscopes suitable
for studying minerals as well as for other scientific uses. We
purchase only high
quality instruments that are in good to excellent condition, recondition
them, and pass the
savings on to you. We will not offer cheap or inferior Russian or Chinese
instruments, for which service and parts may not be available. We feel
that a new or pre-owned quality microscope is a better investment. Click
here to see how we grade our pre-owned and refurbished
microscopes. Compare our
prices with any used microscope dealer! |
| Dear customers, As you can see from the listings below, our inventory is being depleted as fast as we can add to it. We currently have a large backlog of microscopes in our service facility and will list them here as soon as they are qualified. Many of our scopes sell before they make it onto this site. So, if you don't see what you are looking for, check this listing later or email me directly for an update on what will be featured soon. Leitz Wetzlar Laborux K Compound Binocular Microscope The Laborux K is a very sturdy, versatile microscope that offers research-level performance and a modular system that make it highly adaptable for clinical, biological, industrial, and educational laboratories. The Laborux K utilizes world renowned Leitz optics, which yield very high-quality images attainable only in very costly research instruments. Housed on a heavy and rugged stand, the Laborux K can withstand the heavy demands of constant laboratory use. It has a forward facing five objective turret, with 4X, 10X, 40X, 100X(oil) objectives and one spare place for another objective lens. With the included PL 10X/18 eye relief eyepieces this yields 40X, 100X, 400X and 1000X magnifications. An exclusive on Leitz instruments is fine and course focus on single knobs, rather than concentric fine and course focus knobs. Rotating the knobs a half turn in either direction enables course focus and the travel in between is extremely fine focus. We find it to be an extremely nice feature. This instrument uses a 6-volt, 20-watt Köhler illumination system consisting of a halogen lamp and a variable illuminator control potentiometer. The substage condenser mount allows condensers to be changed quickly and without re-adjusting the centering screws. A variety of binocular and trinocular eyepiece tubes can be fitted to this instrument. This particular scope features 30-degree inclination eyepieces tubes and Seidentoph design to minimize the need for refocusing while switching from one objective to another. A quick slide in/out blue filter is incorporated into the condenser. An upper condenser diaphragm as well as light source diaphragm is included. The Laborux K also features a rectangular high-precision coaxial low mount x-y mechanical stage. The Laborux can also accommodate optional accessories such as various brightfield and darkfield condensers, as well as epi fluorescence illumination. A variety of accessories are also available for phase contrast, fluorescence, and polarizing microscopy and for microphotography. This particular instrument was purchased by a medical student for use in a one semester histology class and then stored away. This instrument is in excellent + condition in all respects and looks very near new. The original ABS case is included. This is a fine, and beautiful, microscope for the discriminating professional or serious amateur microscopist. (This same scope sold for $2000 at http://www.upstatetech.com/microsco.htm !)
