The following new mineral books will be at the San Francisco show:

"NAMIBIA – Second Edition"- By L. von Bezing, R. Bode, and S. Jahn, in collaboration with several other experts, with 856 pages, 11 1/4” X 9 3/4”, nearly 1,700 photos, many detailed maps, hard cover. This book is like a 10 star hotel -- you can’t imagine the quality, unless you see it for yourself! This new book is absolutely a must have for every mineral collector on the planet! The overall quality of the photos will astound you! The first edition of “Namibia” was released in 2006, with German only text. The second greatly enlarged 2007edition is in English.

“FINE MINERALS OF CHINA – A Guide to Mineral Localities”, By Guanghua Li, 12” X 8 1/2”, including 55 maps and 617 color photographs of Chinese minerals, pictorial hard cover, 366 pages. Fine Minerals of China is an impressive work that documents the almost unbelievable outpouring of fine mineral specimens from China in recent years. Additionally, Fine Minerals of China is a hefty and spectacularly beautiful photo album of China’s mineral riches. The author, Guanghua Liu, is well known in the mineral world as the proprietor of AAA Minerals International, and has a Ph.D. in Geology. The photo quality and reproduction quality are consistently high. Photos are by Jeff Scovil, the author, and two other very qualified mineral photographers.

“GEOLOGY OF GEM DEPOSITS”, edited by Lee A. Groat, 288 pages, 11” X 8 ½”, 24 color plates, soft cover. This brand new book, just released by the Mineralogical Association of Canada, contains 10 chapters covering gemstones from a geological perspective, and reviews our current understanding of Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, Jade, and Emerald deposits and some of the lesser-known colored gems. Chrysoberyl, Tanzanite, and Topaz are featured, as well as a chapter on gem-bearing pegmatites and a short chapter on colored gemstones from Canadian localities.
