The graph above illustrates the effect of the visible light blocking filter.  The cutoff begins around 400 nanometers, just beyond the main LED 380-385 nanometer spectral lines, and highly attenuates the visible light portion of the LED spectrum.  About 80% of all visible light is blocked.  In short, the filter increases the contrast of the excited state emission of the specimen under observation.

Replacement tubes are available for all models.  It is recommended that the replacement tube is purchased at the same time as the lamp, to insure continuous operation of your fraud detection system.  Tube life is generally 2,000 to 3,000 hours.
